Research reveals that the longer students are in school, the fewer questions they ask. Students’ abilities to ask their own questions is an important skill they must have to be successful in school and as citizens in a democracy. In this interactive workshop, Mary will introduce you to the Question Formulation Technique (QFT) protocol developed by the Right Question Institute. You will experience the QFT protocol, view examples of the protocols in classrooms and virtual environments, and leave with the materials you will need to introduce this protocol in your own classroom.

Participants will understand the two types of questions, open and closed, and be able to identify them; Participants will practice generating questions and organize / prioritize those questions; Participants will be able to utilize QFT in different scenarios.
