TEACHER ACTION RESEARCH SEMINAR #1

Tuesday 3--4:30

This seminar-type workshop will provide professional discussion for teachers planning to implement action research projects. Participants will have an opportunity to share draft plans with the presenters and discuss the nature, limitations, and benefits of qualitative data methods and analysis. Previous understanding the basics of action research in an educational setting is required.

Participants will gain a deeper understanding of qualitative data types; Participants will explore how qualitative data can improve their own teaching and their students' learning; Participants will develop specific plans for applying qualitative data implementation on their action research projects.

TEACHER ACTION RESEARCH SEMINAR #2

Wednesday 3--4:30

This seminar-type workshop will provide professional discussion for teachers planning to implement action research projects.  Participants will have an opportunity to share draft plans with the presenters and discuss the nature, limitations, and benefits of quantitative and qualitative data methods and analysis, including observation, test data, surveys, forums, demographic data, etc. Previous understanding of the basics of action research in an educational setting is required.

Participants will gain a deeper understanding of quantitative and qualitative data types; Participants will explore how data can improve their own teaching and their student's learning; Participants will develop specific plans for applying data collection implementation in their action research projects.

TEACHER ACTION RESEARCH SEMINAR #3

Thursday 3--4:30

This seminar type workshop will provide professional discussion for teachers planning to implement action research projects. Participants will finalize plans for data collection methods and tools and discuss next steps in implementation. Decisions will lead to a formal finalized research proposal and timeline including all specific data collection plans. Previous understanding of the basics of action research in an educational setting is required.
