Determining what steps to take next can be overwhelming for school leaders and teachers. With seven design principles, it is impossible to do everything at once. In this session, authors and practitioners Jon and Brian will facilitate a reflective process through the use of an updated design rubric to allow participants to hone in on one of the design principles, unique to their school and situation, that can be utilized as a lever for deeper learning. Participants will leave with a clear set of action steps that will help them move forward to a more personalized and competency-based learning environment.

Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the seven design principles of a competency-based system; Participants will reflect on their current reality through facilitation, utilizing a refined and updated rubric from Breaking With Tradition; Participants will develop their unique pathway to deepening competency-based and personalized learning in their school.
