MEETING AGENDAS AND PRESENTATIONS

Science Elementary Consortium Goals

(In addition to the NH PLACE Consortium Goals)

The NH PLACE Science Performance Learning and Assessment Consortium for Educators (NH PLACE SCIENCE) brings together NH science teachers and leaders as well as national science experts, to support the design of a student centered, competency-based instructional model aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), and a performance learning system.  The goals of the consortium include:

  1. Strengthening teacher understanding of NGSS, performance learning, and performance assessment design
  2. Reviewing instructional model as a community, developing a unit, performance task and learning bank for teacher use

Science Professional Learning

NH PLACE SCIENCE Elementary professional learning sessions will be led by an elementary teacher leadership team from across the state. Consortium leaders Susan Downer and Heather Wheeler will oversee a leadership group of teachers (Pod Leaders) who will work collaboratively with national and state level leaders to build a professional learning series to support elementary teachers in science education.
